Manifesto | Business as usual is bad for business

The business as usual model is broken. Which is bad news for those who want to make a buck. Here’s the cold, hard truth: For us all to continue living on this planet, the corporations that put profit over people need to die, and the businesses that we build now need to be prepared for the brave, new world ahead of us.

In the old times, it was easy & profitable to make a me-too product in a different size, different colour and with a different scent, flooding the market with useless junk. And it was even easier to fill landfills with piles of waste because poof! We could ship them off to some faraway country. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Wrong.

The world’s different now. It’s getting smaller, and it’s getting more crowded. In the last two years especially, people have been hit with tough decisions about the future. These hard decisions aren’t going to stop.

We’re not naive. There’s a lot to be done to turn this train away from the cliff ahead. But at a consumer level, we believe our power lies in the dollar. Each dollar we spend is a vote for the world we want to live in. With one small change, you can make one huge impact. Then maybe these corporations will put their money where their mouths are.
